If you are new to digital image correction, there are a couple of simple, but ingenious automatic tools in CodedColor you should try first. These tools (conservatively) improve your images with a few clicks only. SmartFix and SmartFlash can also be found in Batch processing, so that you can improve a whole folder of images at once.

 

The most important One-Click improvement tools are:

 

•Gamma Correction: adjustment of brightness and color balance

 

•White Balance: exposure correction and removal of color stains

 

•Auto Colors: histogram stetch to improve color balance and saturation

 

•SmartFlash: exposure correction in underexposed areas (shadow highlighting)

 

•SmartFix: all of the above, but with optional sensitivity values (see Program Settings)

•CodedColor has a very conservative way of improving your photos, thus preserving contrast and reducing resulting artefacts. Many image editors use more primitive algorithms, which might destroy valuable details in your photos or create unwanted artefacts (noise).

 

•If you don't see an effect after using one of the above tools, then CodedColor has determined, that the photo is either already very good, or any further change would destroy valuable details or lead to unrealistic effects.

 

•Remember, that the color settings of your computer screen might lead to a false assumption, that the photo needs to be corrected.
